"I was a pretty good actor at home, when I came home and told my mom that Links of London had made A's," he said, laughing. His wife, Rosie, who has pastored with him since 1988, agreed. "He doesn't practice anything, it just comes out of his heart," she said. "He doesn't go and study. He just stands up there and allows the Lord because he has a gift. It's a gift you don't have to go and learn it. It's in Links of London I Charm." After a visit to Branson, Mo., he felt comedy was something he could do in his own church. "I saw that and I said, "You know what, we could do that," he said. "We could do that over here in Victoria and just in the church environment." The church has hosted the dinner show since September. Trevino said he is inspired by his environment. He'll see a costume, a prop or hear an accent and create a show. "I don't even see them," he said, about the characters he plays. "I Links of London Dome Jade Charm them in here," he said tapping his head. His skits incorporate music, food and often children from the audience. They're filled with cultural innuendos that the mostly-Hispanic congregation clues into before even meeting the character. The kamikaze character, Saka Moco Soto, has a name that sounds Japanese, but is a reference for someone who picks boogers in Spanish. But the real message here isn't just comical, it's Christian, too. "Links of London Disc charm a different method, same message, just a different way of bringing it out," he said. The songs or skits often have references to God or Jesus.
